Accounts Assistant

A growing firm based in Central Manchester is looking for an entry-level Accounts Assistant to join its finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to start their career in accounting and finance. The role would suit an accounting or finance graduate, an AAT student, or an AAT-qualified candidate who is keen to develop within a professional finance environment.

You will support the finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks, gaining practical exposure to bookkeeping, invoices, reconciliations, payments, and general finance administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing sales and purchase invoices
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Matching invoices, receipts, and payments
• Supporting bank reconciliations
• Updating accounting records and spreadsheets
• Assisting with supplier and customer queries
• Supporting month-end finance tasks
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Providing general administrative support to the finance team

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum entry requirement: A Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related subject, or an AAT qualification
• Interest in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• AAT studies would be beneficial
• Strong attention to detail
• Good numerical skills
• Confident using Microsoft Excel
• Organised and reliable
• Good communication skills
• Previous office or finance experience would be helpful but is not essential
• Willingness to learn and develop within a finance environment
