WELLTOWER – REIMAGINE REAL ESTATE WITH US

At Welltower, we’re transforming how the world thinks about senior living and wellness-focused real estate. As a global leader in residential wellness and healthcare infrastructure, we create vibrant, purpose-driven communities where housing, healthcare, and hospitality converge. Our culture is fast-paced, collaborative, and endlessly ambitious—guided by our mantra: The only easy day was yesterday.

We’re looking for bold, independent thinkers who thrive on challenge, embrace complexity, and are driven to deliver long-term value. Every team member is empowered to think like an owner, innovate fearlessly, and lead from where they stand. If you're passionate about outcomes and inspired by the opportunity to shape the future of healthcare infrastructure, we want you on our best-in-class team.

SUMMARY

The AI Engineer, Platform and Data will build and scale the core infrastructure supporting Welltower’s AI capabilities, including data pipelines, model and agent orchestration, and APIs.

This role will focus on creating reliable, reusable solutions that enable teams to move quickly while maintaining strong standards for data quality, security, and performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who is comfortable building from the ground up and partnering across teams to bring AI solutions into production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, normalize, and structure complex data for downstream applications, analytics, and AI solutions.
  • Build and support the model and agent orchestration layer, including the services, APIs, tools, and integration patterns required to bring AI capabilities into production workflows.
  • Develop reusable platform components and shared services that allow engineering and product teams to build new AI-enabled applications efficiently and consistently.
  • Identify repeatable patterns across use cases and convert them into scalable platform frameworks and standards that can be leveraged across the organization.
  • Establish data quality frameworks, automated testing, and monitoring to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used by AI systems.
  • Build observability and operational controls for AI and data services, including monitoring, logging, performance measurement, error handling, and issue resolution.
  • Own the reliability, performance, and maintainability of production AI, data, and platform services, proactively identifying opportunities to improve resilience and scalability.
  • Implement appropriate data governance, security, access controls, and privacy practices to support the responsible use of sensitive and regulated information.
  • Evaluate new AI infrastructure, model-serving, orchestration, and data technologies and determine where they can meaningfully improve Welltower's platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to technical architecture and engineering best practices while remaining hands-on in the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of production systems.
