Role Overview As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you'll embed directly with insurance clients to design, build and ship AI solutions that solve real problems. You'll prototype quickly with end users, adapt to each client's existing systems and data, and take solutions from discovery through to production and adoption. This is hands-on work. You'll write the code, not hand over a design. You'll also feed what you learn in the field back into the wider platform. Key Responsibilities Embed with client teams to understand business goals, challenges and the outcomes they need Design, build and ship production-grade AI solutions, working hands-on with code Prototype and iterate in tight feedback loops with end users, moving from concept to working software in days Lead discovery, assessment and solution planning, turning business needs into technical delivery Own the full solution lifecycle: design, build, deployment, adoption and measuring results Work within each client's existing tech stack, legacy systems and imperfect data Build trusted relationships with technical, business and senior stakeholders Collaborate across engineering, architecture, product and delivery teams Create reusable code assets and best practices that make future delivery faster Mentor colleagues and share knowledge across the team What You'll Need Essential Significant hands-on software engineering experience (typically 6+ years), with a proven record of building and shipping production software Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Java or similar, plus practical experience applying AI, LLM or agentic approaches to real problems Experience working directly with enterprise customers in an embedded, consulting-style or client-facing delivery role Desirable Experience in insurance, insuretech or another regulated sector, ideally with underwriting, claims or policy data Cloud experience, with AWS and Python preferred Relevant cloud or AI certifications Benefits & Package Competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience Flexible working, with only two office days a month in Derry Wellbeing benefits and ongoing learning and development support An inclusive employer, committed to supporting candidates through the interview process Interested?
