Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design from concept through construction documents, producing drawings and models that are accurate, coordinated, and ready to build or manufacture.
  • Develop and maintain our Revit standards, including families, templates, and BIM workflows, so designs carry consistently into production.
  • Design modular and prefabricated housing and building systems, accounting for unit dimensions, transport limits, crane and set logistics, and factory assembly sequences.
  • Coordinate with structural, MEP, and other consultants, and with factory and field teams, to resolve conflicts before they reach production or the site.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, zoning, accessibility standards, and modular-specific requirements such as state-approved plan review and third-party inspection programs.
  • Prepare and stamp (or oversee stamping of) permit-ready drawings within the scope of your licensure.
  • Support client, municipal, and agency reviews, including responding to plan check comments.
  • Evaluate materials, systems, and details for cost, constructability, and performance, and contribute to design-for-manufacture-and-assembly (DfMA) improvements.
  • Mentor designers and drafters, and review their work for quality and consistency.
