Job Title\: Assistant Mobile Engineer
Location\: Mobile, predominantly Southeast
Grade\: GG09
You’re expected to have completed 12 months in role prior to applying for an advertised vacancy and you should also discuss the internal opportunity with your line manager to ensure sustained business continuity and to further support your career development.

Role Description\:
The Assistant Mobile Engineer supports the Mobile Radar Engineering Team in maintaining and delivering radar capability across a range of systems deployed in the field. Working closely with the Waterfront Team, customers and key stakeholders, the role assists with engineering activities, fault resolution and system support to ensure operational effectiveness. The successful candidate will contribute across the wider Radar Portfolio, developing technical knowledge and practical experience while supporting the delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of radar systems in a dynamic engineering environment
Core duties\:
- Adhere with legislation and company policy
- Assist in the support for Radar systems and associated equipment
- Ensure all required project and equipment logs are maintained
- Assist in the support to the Project Eagle Waterfront Radar team as required
- Answer technical queries about his/her equipment within their level of knowledge and competence
- Review risk assessments and raise method statements to cover work where required
- Assisting where able to support the Design Authority to develop solutions to a range of defects and problems as required
- Communicate with internal and external Customers and with other functions as required and as identified by the Project
- Assist Project Engineering and Quality to verify tasks completion
- Coaching and training of more junior team members as required
Essential Skills\:
- Gaining Knowledge/Experience in at least 2 Radar products (MFR/LRR/MRR)
- Higher National Certificate (or equivalent) level qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Gaining Engineering knowledge encompassing hardware, software and systems
- Knowledge of Health & Safety processes
- Familiar with security, ITAR, quality and configuration management control processes
- Gaining knowledge and experience of engineering governance and assurance processes (e.g. Life Cycle Management)
- Experience of fault-finding, repair, commissioning of complex electronic systems and writing detailed technical reports
- Experience of working with the SAP tool (company business tool)
The Mobile Waterfront team\:
The Mobile Waterfront Team supports UK military operations both within the UK and overseas, while also providing support to export customers worldwide. The role may involve rapid response to operational deployments as required
