MigraBR is seeking a Carpenter (Category B) to join our team, working on residential and/or commercial construction projects. The role involves carrying out a wide range of carpentry tasks, from reading technical drawings to the installation and maintenance of wooden structures and fittings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine job requirements;
• Select, measure, cut, shape, drill, and assemble timber structures and fittings in accordance with plans using hand and power tools;
• Install and fix wooden components such as doors, skirting boards, counters, partitions, decking, frames, shop fronts, furniture, and wooden templates;
• Check accuracy and alignment of work using squares, rules, spirit levels, and other measuring tools;
• Carry out maintenance and minor repairs on wooden structures and fittings as required;
• Work as part of a team while adhering to site safety protocols.

Job Requirements:

• 2 years’ hands-on carpentry experience;
• There are no formal academic entry requirements;
• Ability to follow technical instructions and collaborate effectively with others;
• Basic understanding of site safety regulations and PPE usage;
• Physically fit with manual skills suitable for construction tasks.
