CNC MACHINIST / PROGRAMMER - 5 AXIS - 2ND SHIFT

Cedarburg, WI (north Milwaukee metro) | Full-time, direct hire

Schedule: 2nd Shift | 10% shift premium, paid mealtime

Pay: Starting at $32/hour and up, depending on experience, plus 10% shift premium

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A family-owned precision tooling and machining company with a 65+ year history is adding a 2nd shift 5-Axis CNC Machinist. The shop builds engine components, mold tooling, complex mechanisms and enclosures for automotive, medical, plastic packaging, battery and other industries. Work is mostly one-off and short-run custom components, not production. Clean, climate-controlled, well-equipped facility. ISO certified and ITAR registered.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Set up, program and operate 5-Axis Machining Centers

- Program at the machine in Mastercam: while one job runs, you program the next

- Review part specifications and requirements

- Set up the work piece, create the machining sequence and select tooling

- Produce parts within required tolerances and specifications

- Inspect and validate your own work with precision measuring equipment

- Complete short-run jobs with frequent changeovers and tool adjustments

- Keep work areas clean, safe and organized

WHAT YOU NEED

- Proficiency operating 5-Axis Machining Centers (required)

- Strong programming skills (required). Mastercam preferred; the company trains machinists on Mastercam

- Ability to read and interpret part prints and technical drawings

- Proficient in calculating dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring tools

- Able to machine precision parts from start to finish
