We currently have the post(s) of Collections Technical Analyst available.

National Museums Liverpool is one of the UK’s leading museum organisations, responsible for the care and management of an exceptionally rich and diverse collection, spanning art, history, archaeology, science and culture. Across its multiple sites, National Museums Liverpool stewards millions of objects, from internationally significant artwork and maritime artefacts to natural history specimens and social history collections.

Collections information sits at the heart of making these collections accessible. We are embarking on a major project to transition our Collections Management System from MIMSY XG to a successor system.

As Collections Technical Analyst, you will be responsible for the technical administration, system configuration and performance monitoring of the Collections Management System and its related digital assets and associated databases. This includes providing technical solutions to support data migration processes, ensuring migration activities are reliable and secure, and that all implementations align with agreed data structures, standards, policies and codes of practice.

To be successful in this role, you should have demonstrable experience of managing collections systems within a museum or similar setting, with a solid understanding of collections policies, procedures and associated information standards. You should also have experience of working with large datasets, including data profiling, cleaning, transformation and validation, and have a practical understanding of data schemas, integrations and application programming interfaces.
