Bridge Executive Recruitment is currently engaged to source a Cook Assistant for our client who have their highly reputable production facility on the outskirts of Galway city on a permanent basis This is a fast-paced, hands-on role supporting ingredient preparation and daily production. Duties include weighing, slicing, dicing, basic cooking and maintaining food safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, weigh, slice, dice and portion ingredients. Assist with soups, sauces, batch preparation and cooking. Carry out basic cooking tasks when trained. Prepare ingredients in advance to maintain production flow. Operate equipment such as dicers, slicers and mixers. Follow recipes, production instructions and targets. Minimise waste and production delays. Follow HACCP, allergen, hygiene and food safety procedures. Clean equipment, utensils and work areas. Support the kitchen and production team as required. Shift Pattern: Morning: 5:00am–3:00pm Evening: 3:00pm–finish Flexibility is a key requirement of this position and candidates must be flexible regarding shifts. Finish times may vary depending on production requirements. Shift allowance will be provided for late/weekend shifts worked. Additional shift allowance will be paid for late/weekend shifts worked. Candidate Requirements Food production or ingredient preparation experience preferred. Comfortable with repetitive preparation and manual handling. Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure. Physically fit and able to stand for long periods. Reliable, punctual and flexible with working hours. Able to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Good teamwork and communication skills. Strong commitment to hygiene, food safety and quality.
