Dairy Farm Assistant

J Phelan Farm, Harristown, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny is seeking a skilled & experienced Dairy Farm Assistant. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day running of our dairy & beef farm, including milking, calf rearing, feeding, machinery operation, animal care and general farm maintenance.Key Duties and Responsibilities•    Carrying out morning & evening milking•    Calf rearing including feeding, bedding, dosing & general care•    Assisting with calving & caring for newborn calves•    Feeding other livestock•    Operating agricultural machinery and equipment incl. slurry & fertiliser spreading•    General farm and yard maintenance•    Fencing, paddock and general farm maintenance•    Cleaning and maintaining the milking parlour•    Monitoring and maintaining high standards of animal health and welfareRequirements: Minimum 2 years of practical experience in dairy farmingStrong conversational EnglishFarm references essential Driving licence essentialWorking Hours:This is a full time position (39 Hours) and will include weekends & public holidaysWhat we offer: Competitive Salary - €36650 per annumStable full time year round employment on well run & established dairy farmTraining & mentoring where requiredModern onsite accomadation available for the successful applicant
