Overview

As a Data Engineer, you will design and build scalable data pipelines and warehousing to support real-time insurance quotes. You’ll bridge data science, analytics, and software engineering teams to translate requirements into robust data solutions. The role focuses on enabling fast, data-driven decisions and scaling data workflows for growth in the UK. You’ll work with a modern tech stack and have opportunities across multiple teams. This is a chance to shape greenfield data infrastructure at a growth-focused insurtech.

Responsibilities

• Design and build ETL pipelines and data warehousing solutions
• Collaborate with Data Scientists/Analysts and Software Engineers to translate requirements
• Work with real-time data to support fast insurance quotes
• Shape data architectures to enable business growth in the UK
• Contribute to greenfield systems and modern tech stack decisions
• Influence data governance and data quality practices where relevant

Key requirements

• Strong Data Engineering experience
• Strong Python coding skills
• Experience building ETL data pipelines
• Experience with AWS (or other cloud platforms: Azure, GCP)
• Experience in tech or SaaS companies
• Degree educated in Computer Science or similar
• Collaborative with good communication skills
• Nice to have: Databricks, Kafka, Data Governance (GRC)
