Description

Data Modeler/ Data Governance Technical Business Analyst- Outside ir35 contract, WFH

  • Rate- £525/ a day outside ir35.
  • Duration- 5 months
  • Work from Home

The ideal candidate will model the data, catalogue it, curate it, and put it in a repository

Essential skills & experience

  • Data inventory, modelling, capture, classification, flow mapping and retention — strong, hands-on, end-to-end; able to stand these up from a low baseline.
  • Data engineering, modelling & classification - Build and own the central data inventory and data model, data capture / ingestion, and flow maps integrated into the inventory for each business.
  • Apply a consistent data-classification scheme; design sensitivity-based segmentation; implement and enforce retention across all business units.
  • Gap analysis & consolidation across separately-run businesses — reconciling the same or similar systems deployed independently across multiple entities.
  • Process & governance design — fixing root causes and embedding artefact maintenance into business-as-usual.
  • Self-managed delivery — plans and delivers a multi-entity workstream independently to scope and timeline; manages own risks, dependencies and stakeholders.
  • Solution architecture — able to scope and shape solutions for other allocated projects, including solutions built on monday.com as the platform.
  • Apply the Cybersecurity Standard and secure-by-design to every deliverable; treat classification, least privilege, masking, retention and DLP as defaults.
  • Enable secure AI via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) with Claude — connector scoping, least privilege, secrets management and auditability — ensuring data is classified and governed before any AI exposure.

Desirable

  • Microsoft Purview (data inventory, classification, data map / lineage) and data-governance / cataloguing tooling.
  • UK GDPR and data-protection obligations in multi-entity groups; ISO 27002:2022 familiarity.
  • Certifications — SnowPro; Microsoft (e.g. SC-400, SC-300, DP-series, AZ-500); architecture certifications.
