What You'll do:
Groundswell is hiring a Deputy Program Manager to join our team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day project leadership throughout the project lifecycle, leveraging SAFe Agile methodologies to drive execution, coordination, and delivery in support of the Program Director and Program Manager.
- Define, document, implement, and educate teams on project management standard processes, including change and configuration management, risk and issue management, communications management, schedule management, root cause analysis, quality management, and other project controls.
- Collaborate with the program leadership to define and prioritize project activities in alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery by identifying and implementing enhancements to processes, services, and the overall customer experience.
- Ensure project deliverables meet high-quality standards and align with customer policies, applicable regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Develop and execute the project communications plan, including communications and presentations for leadership, internal teams, and customers.
- Provide support to ensure a smooth and successful project go-live by proactively addressing roadblocks, coordinating issue resolution, and managing escalations as needed.
- Develop and manage strong, collaborative relationships with OEMs and subcontractors to ensure alignment, accountability, and successful project delivery.
- Oversee project team performance throughout the program lifecycle to ensure adherence to schedule, quality, budget, and overall delivery commitments.
- Perform work assigned by the leadership.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of complex, full lifecycle, enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex projects on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with established quality standards while effectively managing internal and external resources.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams at all levels of an organization, driving alignment and results within a matrixed environment.
- Strong ability to evaluate project scope, estimate work effort, identify resource requirements, and develop realistic delivery plans aligned with functional and technical requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to actively listen, build strong relationships, and effectively collaborate with internal teams, customers, vendors, OEMs, and subcontractors.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, organizational, and planning skills, with experience leading cross-functional workshops and driving stakeholder alignment.
- Experience with SAFe Agile methodology preferred.
Additional requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen per contract requirements.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance per contract requirements. Active Secret clearance preferred.
- Must be local to the Washington, DC metro area and able to work in the McLean, VA office three to four days per week.
- Some local travel between client sites within the D.C. metro area may be required.

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
