Description
We’re supporting a highly respected Project Management consultancy in the search for their next Director/Project Manager. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a firm recognised for delivering high-profile, high-impact and visionary large-scale projects across multiple sectors.
Their portfolio is ambitious, design-led, and technically sophisticated-projects delivered with precision, creativity and strategic insight. This is a chance to lead truly unique, one-off schemes and build an exceptionally impressive body of work.
The culture is equally standout: the team is innovative, detail-oriented, commercially aware and creatively driven. The right candidate will bring high emotional intelligence, exceptional interpersonal skills and a people-first leadership style to complement this environment.
The Role
As Director of Projects, you’ll be responsible for:
- Leading and developing a team of Project Managers-from assistants through to Project Director level-driving excellence and mentoring future leaders.
- Overseeing complex, multi-sector projects with high visibility and strategic importance. While experience in entertainment, leisure or large public venues is advantageous, strong multi-sector expertise and comfort with ambitious, high-impact projects is what truly matters.
- Providing deep contracts expertise, particularly in JCT and NEC, supporting junior team members and ensuring robust governance.
- Driving business growth through strategic thinking, commercial acumen and proactive client engagement.
- Setting the tone for culture and leadership, fostering a collaborative, motivated and high-performing team at a pivotal stage of the company’s evolution.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
- A strong track record of delivering large-scale, complex projects confidently and effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, with the ability to guide and upskill others.
- Natural business development flair and a strategic mindset.
- High emotional intelligence and a people-centred leadership style.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Lead an ambitious, talented team within a consultancy known for design excellence and technical rigour.
- Work across a diverse range of high-profile, sector-spanning projects, not confined to any one area.
- Competitive salary, package and wider benefits.
- Step into a key leadership role at a defining moment in the company’s growth.
Opportunities like this don’t come up often. If you’re seeking a senior position where you can influence the direction of a consultancy and create lasting impact, we’d welcome a confidential conversation.
