Dispensing Assistant

Orchard House Surgery based in Newmarket, has an opportunity for an enthusiastic Dispensing Assistant to join our team, on a part-time basis. We ideally are looking for someone to join us for either 4 afternoons per week, 20 hours, or all-day Thursday and Fridays, working between 8am – 6pm, hours negotiable.

Duties will include:

• Ensure the safe, accurate and timely supply of prescribed medication to patients
• Provide medicines-related and healthy lifestyle advice to patients
• Assist in the smooth operation of the pharmacy
• Maintain patient medication records
• Oversee stock management
• Answer queries from patients

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

• Be working towards or have completed an accredited NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) Dispensing Assistant training course
• Good attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Excellent team working skills

About Us

We are a 6-partner PMS practice in Newmarket with approx. 11,400 patients and employ 3 further salaried doctors. The practice is one of three based that provides a high level of care to our patients in Newmarket and surrounding villages.
