Finance Assistant

A growing and professional firm based in Central Birmingham is looking for an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join its finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to start their career in finance. The role would suit a finance or accounting graduate, an AAT student, or an AAT qualified candidate who is keen to develop within a professional finance environment.

You will support the finance team with day to day financial tasks, gaining practical exposure to bookkeeping, invoices, reconciliations, payments, and general finance administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing sales and purchase invoices
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Matching invoices, receipts, and payments
• Supporting bank reconciliations
• Updating financial records and spreadsheets
• Assisting with expense processing
• Supporting month end finance tasks
• Assisting with supplier and customer queries
• Providing general administrative support to the finance team

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum entry requirement: A Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related subject, or an AAT qualification
• Interest in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping
• AAT studies would be beneficial
• Strong attention to detail
• Good numerical skills
• Confident using Microsoft Excel
• Organised and reliable
• Good communication skills
• Previous office or finance experience would be helpful but is not essential
• Willingness to learn and develop within a finance environment
