HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT 39 Hours per week 2 year Fixed Term €36651.00 per annum Location: Bon Secours Hospital, Strand Street, Tralee, Co. Kerry, V92 P663 Applications from suitably qualified/ experienced persons are invited to apply for the position of Health Care Assistant with Bon Secours Health System CLG, trading as Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee Job Purpose The fundamental philosophy guiding this position will be to promote and preserve the Bon Secours mission, values (Human Dignity, Integrity, Compassion, Stewardship & Service) and ethos by effective delivery of mission objectives in your capacity as a Health Care Assistant. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Providing personal care and emotional support • Supporting individuals with daily activities and independence • Promoting dignity, respect and wellbeing • Working as part of a supportive team alongside families and healthcare professionals • Maintaining excellent Infection control standards • Keeping an accurate daily record of all care delivered to our patients • Monitoring all aspects of our patients care The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements at a minimum: • Satisfactory relevant acute hospital experience • Successful candidates must commit to attain FETAC Level 5 Healthcare Assistant qualification within 1-2 years of joining the organisation • Knowledge in relation to the management of confidential patient information • Ability to carry out basic procedures as delegated by and under the direction of registered nursing staff. • Ability to demonstrate an empathetic and caring approach to patients and relatives and work so that patients' dignity and respect is maintained at all times. • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team • Excellent Patient Care Skills Closing date for receipt of applications 23rd October 2026 BON SECOURS HOSPITAL IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES EMPLOYER.
