Salary: £29,000 - 46,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an IT Administrator, IT Support Technician or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and standard office software
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting hardware
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, user management and access control
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery procedures
  • Sound understanding of network basics and connectivity protocols
  • Ability to manage multiple support requests and prioritize time effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient approach to user support
  • Relevant IT qualifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+ or ITIL, or equivalent experience
  • Desirable: Experience with cloud services such as Office 365, Microsoft Azure or Google Workspace
  • Desirable: Knowledge of ticketing or help desk management systems
  • Desirable: Familiarity with virtualization technologies or basic server administration
  • Desirable: Experience with mobile device management or remote support tools
Responsibilities:
  • Provide first- and second-line technical support to end users by phone, email and in person
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot desktop and laptop hardware and software
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, permissions and access rights
  • Perform regular system backups, updates and security patches
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, servers and peripherals
  • Document IT processes, solutions and user guides
  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner
  • Assist with hardware procurement and asset management
  • Set up accounts and provision equipment for new starters
  • Carry out basic network diagnostics and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Support deployment of new systems and software
  • Maintain IT security standards and help users follow best practices
  • Participate in an on-call support rota when required
  • Liaise with external IT vendors and support partners when specialist assistance is needed

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation for a full-time, permanent IT Administrator to support its day-to-day technology operations as part of a supportive IT team. The role is on-site, based in person, and offers 37.5 hours per week, including on-call rota support. The salary is competitive and dependent on experience, with a stated range of £29,000–£46,000 per year.
