Our digital transformation is a key enabler of innovation across the entire product development lifecycle. We are now looking for a IT Domain Specialist to support one of our core digital domains: Build & Test – a critical area that ensures the right test vehicles are procured, built, and made available for validation in our vehicle development programs.
Within the team Build, Test and Data Solution, you will be part of a global and diverse team of highly skilled professionals, enabling Digital Smart Services to support Vehicle Research & Development, we learn continuously and embrace change to stay ahead
In this role, you will work closely with product, design, and development teams to drive digital solutions that improve how we plan, build, and track test objects across the product lifecycle – from procurement to physical testing.

You will play an important part in enabling our R&D organization to support them with different services that you are responsible for. As a IT Domain Specialist, you will stay up to date with the latest relevant technological trends and apply these to Volvo’s digital projects. You will be a key partner in business transformation, providing expertise and techniques to identify and design new business service opportunities. Promote usage of digital enablers and strategic partnerships to maximize value creation. Ensure the expertise on digital transformation by exploring current and evolving digital platforms and guide product teams to embrace it in a way that reaches users/customers.
When succeeding in this role, you will have helped close the gap between business need and realization of digital products creating value where it’s needed. This job also includes responsibility for change management to support the business in digital transformations. You will be responsible and have close connections with business/stakeholders and DPMs (Digital product Managers) across the organization.

In this role, you will work closely with product, design, and development teams to drive digital solutions that improve how we plan, build, and track test objects across the product lifecycle – from procurement to physical testing.
These will be some selected responsibilities:
Support Product Managers and Designers in shaping and refining digital solutions related to test object planning, procurement, build tracking, and test readiness
Help structure the backlog into clear, technically feasible items aligned with our AngularJS frontend and Java backend environment
Contribute to early discovery efforts to assess technical implications and guide solution design
Act as a bridge between business needs and technical delivery, ensuring alignment and clarity across stakeholders
Collaborate closely with developers to support implementation, clarify scope, and help resolve technical challenges
Mentor and guide team members, promoting technical excellence and continuous learning

Meritorious qualifications
Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas is highly valued:
Vehicle testing and validation processes
Supply chain or logistics related to test object handling
Procurement planning and supplier collaboration
ERP systems or enterprise-grade process support tools
Working with or within large industrial organizations or transformation programs
SaaS or enterprise platforms with complex business logic and integrations
Handle Change management for digital solutions
