Summary:

The Network Engineer II supports the design, implementation, maintenance, security, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure across corporate and manufacturing locations. The position works independently on day-to-day operations and assigned projects while collaborating with internal teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to provide reliable and secure connectivity

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure across multiple locations, including wired, wireless, remote-access, and internet connectivity.
• Configure and support enterprise routing, switching, network security, and access control solutions in accordance with established standards.
• Monitor network availability, performance, capacity, and security; investigate issues and document root cause and corrective actions.
• Participate in network projects and changes, including planning, testing, implementation, validation, and operational handoff.
• Support corporate, manufacturing, and operational technology connectivity while following segmentation, cybersecurity, and change-control requirements.
• Maintain network documentation and assist with software updates, vulnerability remediation, and incident-response activities.
• Automate routine administration or reporting tasks where practical and share technical knowledge with other IT personnel.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, business teams, and vendors to deliver effective technology solutions.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance, on-call support, and travel to company locations as needed.
• Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned by management.
Level II Scope
• Works independently on routine and moderately complex network operations, troubleshooting, changes, and assigned projects with general supervision.
• Uses established standards and judgment, escalating significant risks, architecture decisions, exceptions, and unresolved critical issues.
• May lead a defined project workstream or site implementation and provide peer guidance without formal supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
• Work is performed in office, data center, network closet, and manufacturing environments. Applicable safety requirements must be followed.
• The employee must be able to move through office and plant areas, access network equipment locations, and occasionally lift or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and experience.
• Three or more years of network administration or engineering experience in an enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting business-critical technology in a multi-site or manufacturing environment is preferred.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and wireless networking.
• Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure and security solutions. Experience with Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting network issues using monitoring, logging, packet analysis, and diagnostic tools.
• Working knowledge of network authentication, access control, secure remote connectivity, virtualization, cloud networking, and hybrid infrastructure.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, including segmentation, least privilege, secure administration, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Basic scripting or network automation experience is preferred.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical audiences.

Preferred Certifications
Current networking, security, or cloud certifications from recognized industry providers are preferred. Certifications support, but do not replace, demonstrated hands-on capability.
