IT Security Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• Practical experience in IT/cyber security operations, infrastructure security, or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience investigating alerts and working with SIEM, endpoint security, vulnerability management, Windows endpoints and servers, networking, identity, and cloud-security fundamentals.
• Desirable: M365/Entra ID experience, CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or Microsoft security certifications.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor security platforms, triage alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and support incident containment and remediation.
• Run vulnerability scans across servers, endpoints, networks, and cloud services; prioritize exposure and track remediation with technical teams.
• Support secure configuration and hardening, patch assurance, firewall reviews, and network security controls.
• Manage Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, privileged-access controls, and Microsoft cloud security.
• Monitor SPF, DKIM, DMARC, DNS, and web-security controls.
• Support Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus activities, and provide technical security input into projects.

We are seeking a hands-on IT Security Engineer to join our newly formed, growing technical team and help operate, monitor, and improve security controls across our infrastructure, cloud services, endpoints, identity platforms, networks, and business systems. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, with hybrid working: two days onsite and three days remote. The salary is £45,000 per annum.
