Salary: £49,000 - 89,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of Cyber Essentials principles and practical implementation
  • Three years of experience delivering 1st- and 2nd-line IT support in a multi-site or cloud-centric environment
  • Three years of experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Three years of experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, Intune, and Windows administration
  • One year of experience or demonstrated ability supervising, motivating, and developing technical staff
  • One year of experience or demonstrated strength in troubleshooting, communication, and documentation
  • One year of awareness of security, privacy, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills for a customer-facing role
  • Organised and methodical, with the ability to work to targets and goals
  • Self-sufficient, able to use initiative and apply lateral thinking to problem resolution
  • Hands-on attitude, dedication, excellent work ethic, punctuality, reliability, and conscientiousness
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required
  • Desirable: experience with Cyber Essentials Plus audits
  • Desirable: knowledge of PowerShell for automation and reporting
  • Desirable: familiarity with ITIL practices
  • Desirable: experience with endpoint management, MDM, and compliance policies
  • Desirable: understanding of network fundamentals and firewall configuration
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enforce compliance with Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus controls
  • Ensure secure configuration of endpoints, servers, mobile devices, and cloud services
  • Oversee patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening
  • Monitor access controls, MFA enforcement, and least-privilege principles across systems
  • Conduct periodic security reviews, risk assessments, and internal audits
  • Support incident response, including triage, containment, documentation, and reporting
  • Promote security awareness and best practices across the organisation
  • Provide technical support and escalation for complex hardware, software, network, and cloud-service issues
  • Ensure timely support-ticket resolution, maintain SLAs, and support high customer satisfaction
  • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals
  • Support administration of Active Directory, Group Policy Management, Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, and other core platforms
  • Maintain accurate asset inventories, licensing records, and configuration documentation
  • Improve IT processes and workflows and maintain knowledge base articles
  • Procure equipment and consumables and lead contract negotiations
  • Lead, mentor, and support IT Support Technicians, supporting their performance and professional development
  • Allocate workload, manage priorities, and monitor ticket queues to maintain service quality
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and escalation support to the team
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, security-focused team culture
  • Assist with network administration, including switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and VPNs
  • Support server maintenance, including backups, updates, and monitoring
  • Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and system deployments
  • Support business continuity through robust backup, recovery, and failover processes

We are recruiting an IT Support Supervisor to oversee day-to-day IT support operations and help us deliver secure, reliable, and efficient technical services across our organisation. The role combines hands-on technical support with team leadership and requires occasional work outside normal hours, such as for maintenance and patching. This is an in-person position.
