Java Developer

We are seeking a senior Java development professional to join our team. The role involves leading a development team, designing and building Java-based applications, and driving agile practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java/J2EE applications and Spring Boot services.
• Lead and coach a development team, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
• Architect and implement RESTful APIs integrating with databases such as DB2 and PostgreSQL.
• Apply Agile methodology throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo).
• Ensure code quality through testing, debugging, and code reviews.

Required qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional Java development experience.
• Proven experience leading and coaching development teams.
• Strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
• Hands‑on experience with DB2, PostgreSQL, SQL, React, and Typescript.
• Demonstrated ability to work in Agile environments.
• Fluency in Dutch at CEFR level C2.

Nice to have

• Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Bamboo.
• Familiarity with Helm charts and container orchestration.
• Background in developing geographic data applications.
• Experience within the public sector or Flemish Government projects.
