Java Developer

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Work Arrangement: Remote within the Madison area; onsite attendance as needed

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with messaging systems, caching, RESTful APIs, and modern application development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java versions 8–21 and Spring Boot.
• Write backend unit tests using JUnit and maintain appropriate code coverage.
• Implement messaging and caching solutions using Apache Kafka, Redis, or equivalent technologies.
• Build responsive Angular 21 interfaces that meet ADA/WCAG accessibility requirements.
• Develop automated frontend tests using Playwright.
• Design, develop, and document RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and OpenAPI.
• Collaborate with business analysts, APM/QA engineers, and other stakeholders to understand and implement requirements.
• Create wireframes and mockups to communicate design concepts.
• Troubleshoot application issues and improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain coding standards.
• Participate in requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Use AI tools, including prompts, skills, and Model Context Protocol (MCP), to support development.
