Java Developer (Fixed Income)

We are working with a leading global investment banking and financial services organisation seeking an experienced Java Developer to join its Fixed Income Technology team, supporting Front Office trading activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with traders, business stakeholders and technology teams, developing and enhancing mission-critical applications within a fast-paced financial markets environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-performance Java applications.
• Build and enhance event-driven and low-latency systems.
• Contribute to code reviews, CI/CD and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Take ownership of projects from development through to production.
• Collaborate with Front Office stakeholders and technology teams globally.
• Provide second-line application support.

Technical Experience

• Multithreading, concurrency and low-latency programming.
• Spring and Spring Boot.
• AWS or other cloud technologies.
• Messaging technologies such as Kafka, MQ or AMPS.
• SQL databases, ideally Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Git, Maven, Gradle and CI/CD tooling.
• Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
