JavaScript Developer – React / TypeScript

Overview

In this frontend-focused consultancy role you design and build modern web apps using React, TypeScript and JavaScript to support complex, user-centric public-sector workloads. You’ll work with engineers, architects and non-technical stakeholders from discovery through delivery, delivering secure, production-ready interfaces. Expect diverse, mission-critical projects where accessibility and security matter, with opportunities to influence solutions and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop web applications with React, TypeScript and JavaScript
• Create dashboards and data-rich interfaces for complex operations
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into practical solutions
• Integrate frontend with REST APIs, authentication and enterprise platforms
• Build prototypes and proofs-of-concept for consultancy engagements
• Contribute to testing, code reviews, CI/CD and engineering standards across teams

Key requirements

• Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript
• Excellent JavaScript, HTML and CSS fundamentals (responsive, accessible design)
• Experience building secure applications and API integration
• Strong testing experience (Jest and React Testing Library)
• Git-based development, CI/CD and modern engineering practices
• Experience in consultancy, government, or complex environments (valuable)
