Junior Azure Data Engineer Toronto

Build Azure data pipelines on-site in Toronto for Ontario’s Data Platform, using Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Python.

This junior contract supports the Government of Ontario’s enterprise data ecosystem. You will develop scalable pipelines, prepare analytics data, and maintain cloud data solutions using ADLS, Delta Lake, Spark, SQL, and Lakehouse architecture principles. The work supports data-driven decision-making, analytics, and artificial intelligence across government organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop batch and near real-time Azure data pipelines
• Build ingestion frameworks for varied source systems
• Create Databricks notebooks, workflows, and processing jobs
• Implement validation, monitoring, and reconciliation processes
• Automate engineering processes through reusable frameworks and utilities

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in a related technology field
• Experience with ADF, ADLS, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse architecture
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark-based processing
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, and automated deployment
• Knowledge of governance, security, privacy, and access control
