Junior Backend Developer for GenAI & AI Agents

KPMG Advisory S.p.A. is seeking a Junior Full Stack Developer (focus backend) to join the Lighthouse Team within Intelligent Automation in Italy.

You will contribute to AI-powered solutions, including agents and document-based apps, while working across the development lifecycle. The role involves Python backend development, databases, and cloud integrations, with learning opportunities in AI and Generative AI.

Developing web applications and AI and Generative AI solutions with focus on backend development. Developing backend components and services using Python, relational databases and SQL. Contributing to design and development of solutions based on LLMs, RAG and AI agents. Supporting Data Science and Data Engineering projects. Participating across the solution lifecycle from requirements and design through development, testing and deployment. Integrating applications and AI solutions with databases, APIs and cloud services. Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to create reusable components. Supporting deployment activities and ongoing production management. Pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science or related field. Gained initial software development experience through academic projects, internships or personal initiatives. Strong knowledge of Python, relational databases, SQL and Git. Genuine interest in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and Agentic AI. Fluent in Italian with professional working proficiency in English.
