Lead Product Designer - Design Systems, Figma

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Lead Product Designer, including ownership of overall Design System Strategy
• Demonstrable experience scaling design systems across large organisations
• Strong working knowledge of Figma
• Experience defining governance, architecture and standards, and measuring system usage, effectiveness and future improvements
• Ability to drive coherence, accessibility and scalability, ensuring designs are accessible and responsive
• Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and drive adoption across Product teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including with C-suite stakeholders
• Exceptional communication skills and confidence communicating with technical and non-technical audiences
• Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe)
• Flexible approach to hybrid working
• Desirable: immediate availability
• Desirable: demonstrable experience with AI tooling
• Desirable: research, content design or service design experience
• Desirable: experience in a large, complex, heavily regulated organisation

Responsibilities:

• Own the overall Design System Strategy and scale systems across large organisations
• Define and evolve the Design Systems architecture, principles, governance and standards
• Measure system usage and effectiveness, and identify future improvements
• Drive coherence, accessibility and scalability across designs
• Lead cross-functional collaboration and encourage adoption across Product teams
• Work closely with Product Designers and Engineers, bridging Design and Engineering
• Test and validate component behaviour
