Lead, Software Development, DevOps

Hootsuite is seeking a Lead, Software Development, DevOps to lead a team of SRE/DevOps practitioners. The role is split between technical execution (50%) and people leadership, process management, and project oversight (50%), with responsibility for designing and delivering a reliable, scalable, secure, and performant cloud-based Linux infrastructure platform that supports product development teams.

What You'll Do

Enable development teams to access infrastructure platform interfaces and tools supporting the entire software development lifecycle

Manage reliability, security, and integrity of large-scale cloud-based Linux infrastructure including diagnosis of distributed systems, implementation of runbooks, monitoring, and alerting

Build, maintain, and improve infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code approaches

Lead and mentor team members while collaborating cross-functionally to solve technical problems and build better systems

Implement continuous improvement initiatives for team culture and processes using Agile methodologies, participate in on-call rotations

What You Need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Minimum 5 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or software engineering roles with substantial contributions to high-impact software projects

Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible

Deep background in cloud infrastructure design and operations with ability to architect and automate production cloud infrastructure

Proven leadership and influence capabilities; ability to clarify complex problems, propose improvements, and develop team capabilities

Canada Pay Range: $115,000–$160,000 CAD
