Skills

blenderprototypingunreal engine

Description

We’re looking for a Level Designer to join the team working on a new 11 bit studios unannounced project.

You’ll help us shape a large, diverse world combining a mix of natural environments with human-made spaces, focused on exploration, survival and first-person traversal. We’re looking for someone who enjoys exploring ideas, prototyping solutions and thinking about how to build engaging spaces at scale, rather than only working within already established patterns.

This position requires working in a hybrid model in our Warsaw office.

Your responsibilities:

  • Designing and iterating open-world locations, from early greyboxes to final layouts,

  • Creating natural environments and different biomes that support exploration, clear navigation and first-person traversal,

  • Designing gameplay spaces around survival mechanics, verticality, combat and environmental challenges,

  • Building varied locations using modular and scalable solutions,

  • Shaping both outdoor and indoor spaces, including shelters, abandoned locations and cave systems,

  • Working closely with Environment Art, Tech Art and Game Design to turn prototypes into convincing and performant locations.

What will help you succeed in this role?

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Level Design,

  • Strong understanding of first-person (FPP) level design and large-scale/open-world environments,

  • Experience with Unreal Engine and understanding of open-world systems and workflows, including World Partition,

  • Strong greyboxing and prototyping skills,

  • Ability to think systemically and work with modular, set-based design,

  • Good understanding of pacing, scale, composition, sightlines and player navigation,

  • Proactive approach to design, research and problem solving,

  • Good understanding of technical constraints related to large environments,

  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

  • Fluent English.

Experience in another engine is not a blocker if you have strong Level Design fundamentals and are comfortable working & learning with Unreal workflows.

Nice to have:

  • Experience prototyping simple 3D assets in Blender or similar software.

  • Basic Level Art skills, including working with modular kits, materials, collision and asset placement,
