Position Summary
Ethic Tech, LLC is seeking a Microsoft 365 Power Platform Developer to help modernize and optimize business operations by transforming manual, spreadsheet-driven, paper-based, and legacy processes into integrated Microsoft 365 solutions, automated workflows, data-driven reporting, and secure digital business applications. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to analyze operational requirements, identify opportunities for process improvement, and design solutions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. You will develop secure, scalable, and maintainable applications, workflows, and reporting tools that support mission-critical operations for a major Government organization responsible for managing installation and facility data at the headquarters level.
The successful candidate will play a key role in building and automating business applications and processes, streamlining workflows, and delivering actionable insights that enable informed decision-making. This position offers an opportunity to bridge business needs and technology by leveraging low-code and no-code platforms to create innovative digital solutions.
This is a primarily remote position; however, occasional on-site support at military installations may be required to address issues that cannot be resolved through virtual collaboration tools. Travel within and outside the continental United States may be required with advance notice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Microsoft Power Apps, including Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps.
- Develop automated workflows and business processes using Microsoft Power Automate.
- Create and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, data models, Power Query transformations, and DAX calculations.
- Design and configure SharePoint Online sites, lists, libraries, metadata, content types, permissions, and document-management solutions.
- Design and maintain Dataverse tables, relationships, business rules, security roles, forms, and views.
- Integrate Power Platform applications with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Excel, SQL databases, Dataverse, Microsoft 365 services, and approved third-party systems.
- Analyze existing manual processes, spreadsheets, Microsoft Access databases, and legacy applications and recommend appropriate Power Platform solutions.
- Convert business requirements into functional application designs and technical solutions.
- Develop applications supporting departmental operations, document management, approval processes, data collection, work tracking, reporting, and management decision-making.
- Create Power Automate approval workflows, notifications, scheduled processes, data synchronization processes, and automated document workflows.
- Develop reusable components, standardized templates, and application design standards.
- Configure application security based on user roles, departments, and business responsibilities.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 groups, SharePoint permissions, Teams integration, and application access controls.
- Develop and maintain application documentation, process-flow diagrams, technical documentation, data dictionaries, and user instructions.
- Perform application testing, troubleshooting, debugging, performance optimization, and production support.
- Manage application changes through development, testing, and production environments.
- Maintain solution packages and support Application Lifecycle Management practices for Power Platform applications.
- Monitor Power Apps, Power Automate flows, gateways, data connections, scheduled refreshes, and application performance.
- Identify and resolve application failures, data-quality issues, workflow errors, and integration problems.
- Work directly with department managers and end users to identify business-process improvement opportunities.
- Provide user training and technical assistance for developed applications and reporting solutions.
- Support continuous improvement of the organization's Microsoft 365 application and reporting environment.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements, translating them into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Information Systems, Software Development, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Power BI development, including DAX queries, Power Query, data modeling, and custom visuals.
- Strong proficiency in Power Apps development, including Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps.
- Extensive experience with Power Automate to design and implement automated workflows.
- Advanced knowledge of SharePoint development and customization, including integration with Power Platform tools.
- Experience in ETL processes, data integration, and data transformation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Certifications
- Project management experience.
- Experience with Power Fx, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Azure services, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, or custom connectors.
- Experience managing and securing data access and permissions in SharePoint and Power BI.
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
Clearance Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Current NACI or Secret Clearance is a plus.
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel 10-25% to military installations CONUS and OCONUS.
