Oracle Database Administrator (Fixed-Term Contract)

Salary: £75,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong Oracle DBA experience
• Experience with Oracle Data Guard
• Expertise in Oracle backup and recovery
• Knowledge of Oracle security, including roles, privileges and TLS configuration
• Unix/Linux administration experience
• SQL, PL/SQL and shell scripting skills
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Experience in financial services, transaction processing environments or core banking platforms is advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain and improve our Oracle database environments supporting our core banking platform
• Perform Oracle database administration and maintenance
• Manage backup and recovery, including disaster recovery testing
• Administer Oracle Data Guard
• Manage database cloning and environments
• Manage performance, capacity and security
• Support automation and batch processing activities
• Work on projects and system improvements
• Maintain documentation, monitoring and reporting
• Provide occasional out-of-hours support for critical issues
