Platform Lead

As Platform Lead, you will lead and grow the MECOMS Platform organization. You ensure that our Platform Build and Platform Run teams provide a secure, scalable and automated engineering foundation that enables efficient software delivery across Ferranti. You bring people, priorities and execution together while fostering collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement.
Your Responsibilities:

You will provide leadership to the Platform Build and Platform Run teams, ensuring effective execution and continuous evolution of the MECOMS engineering platform. You translate strategy into a clear roadmap, set priorities and drive predictable delivery. You guide technical decision making by guiding discussions, evaluating trade‑offs and ensuring alignment, while relying on your strong technical understanding of modern engineering platforms — from CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code to Azure, automation, observability and release processes.

You work closely with the Product Lead, the product owners, project Architects and Delivery Leadership, reporting directly to the CTO and acting as the bridge between strategy and execution. You strengthen governance, planning and collaboration across Platform, Product and Delivery, and promote standardization, automation and continuous improvement to enhance the reliability and scalability of the MECOMS platform.

The MECOMS Platform team owns and evolves the engineering foundation that enables reliable and scalable software delivery. The Platform Build and Platform Run teams are responsible for capabilities such as CI/CD and DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, Azure platform engineering, automation and security standards, monitoring, observability and performance, environment management, deployments and release governance, incident and problem management, and developer enablement and tooling — all within the Microsoft Azure and Dynamics 365 ecosystem.

As Platform Lead, you are not hands‑on in these areas, but you must understand them well enough to guide teams, challenge decisions, and steer the platform’s long‑term evolution.

You are a strong people leader with solid technical understanding and experience in engineering organizations.

You bring:

• Experience leading technical teams
• Background in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or cloud
• Solid understanding of modern infrastructure concepts (Azure, IaC, CI/CD, automation, reliability)
• Strong planning and organizational skills
