The main focus of the Polish team is the development of a new Player Account Management (PAM) platform, replacing the existing third‑party Playtech solution. The project is being built from scratch and the engineering team is creating the technology foundation that will support a high‑volume, transactional gaming platform.

About the Role

We are looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer to take end‑to‑end ownership of the infrastructure behind the new PAM platform. You will be responsible for researching, designing, implementing and delivering the AWS platform from the ground up, working across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, CI/CD and observability. As the first DevOps Engineer in Poland, you will have significant influence over technical standards and the way the platform is built and operated. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and taking ownership of production‑ready, highly reliable systems.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and build the AWS infrastructure for the new PAM platform from scratch
  • Own the infrastructure lifecycle from research and architecture through implementation and production delivery
  • Design AWS account structures, networking, IAM, and cloud infrastructure
  • Build and operate the Kubernetes platform using Amazon EKS
  • Design scalable and highly available infrastructure for production workloads
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Build and maintain GitOps and CI/CD processes, including Argo CD or similar tools
  • Establish observability across metrics, logging, tracing and alerting
  • Define and improve production readiness, reliability and incident response practices
  • Work on backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
  • Support the migration from the existing third‑party platform
  • Work closely with backend, security, AI platform, and other engineering teams
  • Establish infrastructure and operational standards across the organization
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to cloud‑native and DevOps best practices

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform or Infrastructure Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience at Staff or Principal level
  • Deep, hands‑on experience with AWS – AWS is a must‑have for this role
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, ideally Amazon EKS
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services and architecture, including RDS, MSK, VPC, and IAM
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably Terraform
  • Experience designing and operating CI/CD and developer platforms
  • Experience with high‑availability, high‑throughput production systems
  • Strong understanding of networking and cloud architecture
  • Ability to script or program in Python, Go, or Bash
  • Experience with observability and production operations
  • Experience designing backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong ownership and ability to work independently on complex technical challenges

Nice to Have

  • AWS professional‑level certifications
  • Experience with Kafka / MSK
  • Experience with cloud security, secrets management and vulnerability scanning
  • Knowledge of Vault, SAST, DAST or SCA
  • Experience with ISO 27001, SOC 2 or PCI DSS
  • Experience in iGaming, sports betting, fintech or another regulated, high‑transaction‑volume environment
  • Experience migrating away from a third‑party platform
  • Experience with multi‑region architectures
  • Polish and/or Spanish language skills

What We Offer

  • B2B or permanent employment contract (UoP)
  • Approx. 35,000 PLN a month, depending on experience and expectations
  • 3‑month probation period
  • Company‑provided MacBook
  • Private medical care and benefits package
  • Budget for hardware, tools, and professional development
  • Performance bonus
  • Periodic team gatherings
  • Optional access to the Kraków office
  • A greenfield project where the infrastructure is being designed from the ground up
  • The opportunity to be the first DevOps Engineer in Poland and take ownership of the platform foundation
