What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is building the next generation unified, AI-driven automation platform “ATOM”. The goal is to leverage artificial intelligence to consolidate all automation and orchestration functions onto a single platform, eliminating redundancy and streamlining operations. As the Platform Lead, you will drive innovation by leading engineering teams through complex problem-solving, feature implementation, and strategic alignment to build automation and orchestration for wireline and wireless networks.

Key Objectives:

  • Autonomous Operations: Use AI agents to automate network deployments, health checks, configuration audits, and service assurance.

  • Machine-readable Method of Procedures: Transform static procedure documents into an executable format that AI agents can directly process and act on.

  • Unified Automation: Consolidate all network procedures and workflows into a single, cohesive system, making the entire network more intelligent and resilient.

  • Predictive Root Cause Analysis: Leveraging Graph DBs and advanced AI models, the system will proactively identify and fix issues, minimizing outages.

  • Closed-Loop Service Assurance: Design and implement self-healing network frameworks that utilize real-time telemetry to trigger proactive remediation.

  • Network Programmability: Architect orchestration layers using modern protocols (gRPC, NETCONF, YANG) to achieve seamless, multi-vendor SDN control.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with business stakeholders to translate complex use cases (including iEN, IP, Transport, and 5G Network Functions) into scalable platform capabilities.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and drive innovation for the ATOM Platform by leading onshore and offshore development teams through complex problem-solving.

  • End-to-End Development: Perform full-cycle application development—including design, coding, and testing—by leveraging AI tools to optimize delivery and performance.

  • System Stability: Engage as a subject matter expert and collaborate with quality assurance and production support teams to ensure systems operate at premium conditions.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer building, deploying, and maintaining highly available, fault-tolerant cloud-native applications and services, utilizing modern back-end frameworks with a strong focus on CI/CD for network infrastructure.

  • Deep knowledge of Python, Linux, and JavaScript, as well as advanced Git usage.

  • Strong working knowledge of Openstack, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or VCP WebScale.

  • Experience with SQL or MariaDB or MongoDB databases.

  • Experience practicing start up development methodology.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • Expertise in developing Generative AI solutions and deploying advanced AI Agents within a Python ecosystem. Proven experience engineering RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures and utilizing vector databases alongside advanced LLM prompt engineering for major frameworks like Gemini and Claude. Deep proficiency in building orchestrations using agentic frameworks and protocols, including LangChain, LangGraph, LangFlow, and MCP Servers. Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP.

  • Experience with Vue.js, FastAPI, Django, Flask, Fastify, or Temporal engine.

  • Deep telecom domain expertise developing automation, orchestration and service assurance capabilities for wireline and wireless networks , with specific understanding of iEN, IP, Transport, 5G Network Functions, networking protocols and AP, ASPN, ATLAS or similar automation platforms.

  • Certifications in Agentic AI, Machine Learning, or UI/UX design.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $120,500.00 - $231,000.00.
