Principal Service Designer - Hybrid

Salary: £143,000 - 143,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require strong experience designing complex, end-to-end services.
• We require experience delivering to government service design standards.
• We require expertise in service blueprinting, journey mapping and workshop facilitation.
• We require excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• We require experience mentoring and supporting other designers.
• We require confidence using design, prototyping and collaborative mapping tools.
• Public-sector or regulated-environment experience would be beneficial.
• BPSS clearance is required.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end service design across digital and offline channels.
• Create service blueprints, user journeys and ecosystem maps.
• Turn research findings into practical service improvements.
• Facilitate workshops and influence stakeholders.
• Collaborate with researchers, product managers and engineers.
• Mentor designers and measure the impact of service changes.

We are seeking a Principal Service Designer to lead the design and improvement of complex services, balancing user needs, business goals and technology capabilities. This is a full-time contract role based in Leeds, with two days per week on site, paying £550 per day inside IR35 and running until 31 March 2027.
