Job Summary
Inter-Con Security Systems is seeking a Project Manager to oversee daily security operations for a large, geographically dispersed public social services contract. The contract includes 19 locations, approximately 3,000 weekly security service hours, and approximately 70 security officers across northern Los Angeles County and surrounding communities.
The Project Manager serves as a client liaison and coordinates security services, supervises assigned personnel, and manages timekeeping, personnel administration, and payroll support. This hands-on leadership role requires regular site visits, strong follow-through, and the ability to balance field operations with accurate administrative support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day security service delivery across assigned locations, ensuring operations meet contract requirements, client expectations, and Inter-Con procedures.
- Serve as a liaison with the Client Security personnel; address service concerns and coordinate timely follow-up.
- Supervise assigned supervisors and security officers, communicate expectations, coach performance, and coordinate personnel matters with appropriate Inter-Con teams.
- Coordinate staffing, schedules, and coverage with supervisors to maintain required service levels and address attendance or coverage issues.
- Review timekeeping records for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely personnel and payroll support.
- Conduct regular site visits, including weekly visits to outlying locations, to assess service quality, support employees, and maintain client relationships.
- Coordinate responses to operational issues and incidents, ensure appropriate escalation, and maintain clear documentation and follow-through.
- Prepare and maintain operational reports, staffing records, and other required administrative documentation.
- Partner with the Contract Manager on reporting, contract compliance, and resource needs; apply financial awareness to staffing and overtime decisions.
- Support contract transition activities, personnel readiness, and implementation of site procedures.
- Perform other duties related to security operations and contract service delivery as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of experience within the last five years providing security management services on a contract of similar size and scope.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience supervising security personnel and coordinating operations across multiple locations.
- Strong client service, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate timekeeping, personnel records, payroll support documentation, and operational reports.
- Financial acumen, including an understanding of how staffing, scheduling, and overtime affect contract operations.
- Proficiency with standard business software and the ability to learn scheduling, timekeeping, and reporting systems.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the service area and conduct weekly visits to outlying sites.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing security services in public-facing government or social services environments.
- Experience supporting a contract transition or new service launch.
- Bilingual communication skills.
Work Environment and Travel
The position combines office administration with field oversight at client locations. Commerce is the preferred base, with recruiting also focused on the Sylmar area. The service footprint includes Pomona, El Monte, Monterey Park, Burbank, Chatsworth, Palmdale, Lancaster, and surrounding communities. Regular travel between these sites is an essential part of the role.
