Location: Belfast Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead the delivery of a new-build construction project from pre-construction through to completion and handover. This is a key role within the project team, responsible for managing the programme, construction activities, subcontractors, consultants, health and safety, quality, costs, and client relationships to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the required standards. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction project management, ideally with experience delivering education, public-sector, commercial, or similarly complex new-build projects. Key Responsibilities Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project. Lead and coordinate the site management and wider project team. Develop, manage and monitor the construction programme, ensuring key milestones are achieved. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and stakeholders. Monitor project costs, variations, valuations and commercial performance in conjunction with the commercial team. Ensure all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, contracts and relevant regulations. Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, quality and environmental standards throughout the project. Manage design coordination, technical queries, RFIs and information flow between the design and construction teams. Chair and attend regular progress, design and coordination meetings. Maintain effective communication with the client, consultants, local stakeholders and project team. Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities. Ensure appropriate records, reports and project documentation are maintained. Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and the successful handover of the completed school. Promote a positive, professional and collaborative working environment across the project. About You We are looking for a Project Manager who can demonstrate: Proven experience managing construction projects from start to completion. Experience delivering new-build projects, preferably within the education or public-sector environment. Strong knowledge of construction processes, programme management and project delivery. Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities effectively. Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs and contractual obligations. A proactive approach to identifying and resolving project issues. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. A thorough understanding of health and safety requirements within the construction industry. Qualifications & Experience Essential: Relevant construction/project management experience. Demonstrable experience managing medium to large-scale construction projects. Strong understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and site operations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desirable: Degree/HND/HNC in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building, or a related discipline. CSCS / SMSTS or equivalent relevant qualifications. Experience working on education or public-sector construction projects. Membership of a relevant professional body such as MCIOB, RICS, ICE or equivalent.
