Python Test Engineer for Financial Processing Platform

Summary

The primary goal of this role is to enhance and ensure the quality of a comprehensive financial processing platform that manages transactions through automated testing.

Main Responsibilities

Core duties include the following:

• Investigate the financial processing engine, user interface (UI), integrations, and dependencies to identify testing gaps.

• Design and implement automated tests covering various aspects, including transactions, payments, revenue sharing, accruals, refunds, cancellations, subscriptions, and financial rules.

• Test internal and external sales/payment-channel integrations.

• Test the analyst-facing UI and its integration with the processing engine's backend.

• Address edge cases, ensure data correctness, handle retries, duplicate processing, partial failures, and recovery measures.

• Integrate appropriate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Key Requirements

• Strong Python skills

• Basic SQL skills.

• Experience in manual and automated testing, including integration and end-to-end testing.

• General understanding of relevant technologies such as data processing, cloud computing, system integrations, interfaces, APIs, CI/CD, SDLC, and Git.

• Ability to independently investigate and identify testing needs within an unfamiliar system.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Self-driven and adaptable to new technologies.

• Excellent communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with Databricks.

• Experience in financial processing.
