QA Software Test Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in software testing or QA
• Very strong experience with automated testing
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python
• Strong experience in functional, integration, regression, and system testing
• Experience testing APIs, integrations, or distributed software
• Experience testing web or desktop applications
• Practical experience using AI tools in software development or testing workflows
• Experience incorporating AI into everyday QA processes
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• API testing experience with Postman
• Automation testing experience with Playwright, Selenium, TestComplete, or similar tools
• Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI, C#, CI/CD, SaaS platforms, or hardware/device integrations is advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Create and execute functional, integration, regression, and system test plans
• Develop and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers
• Use AI tools in daily QA workflows, including test generation, test data creation, automation, and defect analysis
• Identify and implement ways to use AI to improve testing processes and software quality
• Test APIs, integrations, webhooks, and distributed SaaS components
• Configure test environments and perform hands-on testing with software and physical devices
• Investigate defects and work closely with developers and Product teams to resolve issues
• Support CI/CD, backend, and integration testing
• Improve QA processes, automation, and testing standards

We are recruiting a QA Software Test Engineer to join our growing technology team in a technically innovative environment where AI is already integral to the QA function. The role is mostly remote, with very occasional travel to our HQ in Basingstoke, Hampshire. You will work across a complex SaaS environment involving web applications, APIs, backend services, databases, and connected hardware.
