Remote, PostgreSQL Database Administrator - Only W2

Required Skills

• 7 years of hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL databases, including AWS RDS.

• Strong knowledge of high availability, replication, backup and recovery, database migrations, and disaster recovery.

• Expertise in database performance optimization, security management, and production issue resolution.

• Proficiency in Shell scripting and version control tools such as GitHub and GitLab.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, Python, AWS DMS, Jenkins, and Terraform.

• Knowledge of Oracle databases.

• Relevant AWS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.

• Handle AWS RDS database provisioning, version upgrades, monitoring, and routine maintenance.

• Implement and support high availability, replication, backup, recovery, and database migration strategies.

• Design and implement Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions.

• Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and reliability.

• Automate routine DBA operations using scripting and DevOps tools.

• Investigate and resolve database incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and maintain technical documentation.

• Provide on-call support to ensure database availability and operational stability.
