Sidian is a Waterloo startup (backed by a US$1M pre-seed round) building software that connects the drawings, models and documents inside engineering firms.

You’ll own the ingestion pipelines for BIM models, PDF drawings, spreadsheets and email, design the company knowledge graph, and build the retrieval and reasoning systems on top of it. You’ll work directly with customers to turn messy engineering workflows into dependable product.

You bring: strong Python data engineering; hands‑on graph database work (Neo4j/Cypher); production pipelines with tools like Spark, Databricks and Parquet; and experience parsing difficult file formats. Side projects, open source or startup experience count for a lot.

Hybrid in Waterloo. Compensation to be discussed, plus equity.
