Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for assigned commercial, healthcare, and industrial security accounts and market segments.
  • Meet or exceed revenue, margin, and project cost targets by selling well-scoped, profitable security solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with new and existing customers (owners, facility and security managers, IT and network teams, project managers, design engineers, purchasing, etc.) to drive sales success and effective account management.
  • Use a consultative sales and account management process: conduct discovery meetings with prospective clients to understand security needs and risks and to qualify sales opportunities.
  • Survey and assess customer sites and existing security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related systems) to identify upgrade, integration, and value-adding project opportunities.
  • Design security solutions and prepare proposals, bills of material, and presentations.
  • Actively manage proposals through negotiation to close sales.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of proposals to ensure the annual booking goal is consistently met.
  • Achieve the annual sales targets necessary to grow the business within your assigned market.
  • Grow business within existing accounts, including service, maintenance, and system upgrade opportunities.
  • Provide management with required sales forecasts, pipeline, and activity reporting.
  • Support technical evaluation and system design for security opportunities, individually or as part of an account team, including coordination with manufacturers and vendors on product selection.
  • Work with project management and installation teams to ensure accurate scope, a smooth handoff, and customer satisfaction on awarded projects.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial security sales, sales engineering, system design, or equivalent operational or management experience, preferably with access control, video surveillance, or intrusion detection systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or business equivalent experience considered.
  • Industry certifications preferred (such as ASIS PSP or manufacturer/platform certifications); state security licensing as required.
  • Experience preparing system designs, bills of material, device layouts, scopes of work, and cost estimates for security projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial security technologies, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection, with a working understanding of IP networking; familiarity with integrating security and building systems preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong business decision-making skills with a solid financial acumen
  • Solid problem-solving and proven negotiating skills
  • High sense of urgency
  • Proven prospecting, sales planning, consultative selling, and closing skills; self-motivated, high energy, and professional.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient with CRM or sales force automation tools.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Physical Demands: Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder, handling/grasping documents or office equipment, clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, repetitive motions for computer equipment use, lift 25 lbs. occasionally, 5-10 lbs. frequently to lift/carry/move objects, files and documents.

Work Environment: Work is performed primarily in an office environment, with regular travel to customer sites for surveys, meetings, and project walkthroughs.
