Senior AI Engineer – Full Stack
Location: Dublin – Hybrid, up to 3 days per week
Contract: 6 months initially, potential extension to 12 months
Rate: Up to €500/day
We’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join an AI R&D team building and deploying innovative AI products and applications. This is a hands-on builder role for someone with strong full-stack engineering skills and genuine experience working with LLMs and GenAI. You’ll take ideas from concept and feasibility through to design, development and production.
Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI-powered applications end to end.
• Develop LLM, RAG, agentic AI, embeddings, vector search and tool-calling solutions.
• Work across the full stack using Python and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Design APIs, data models, front-end applications and cloud infrastructure.
• Evaluate AI solutions and optimise for quality, cost, latency and reliability.
• Help shape technical architecture and assess the feasibility of new AI products.
• Work with product, data, security and platform teams to deliver production-ready solutions.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years' software engineering experience building production applications.
• Strong hands-on experience building AI/GenAI products, not simply integrating AI as a bolt-on.
• Strong Python + TypeScript/JavaScript skills.
• Full-stack development experience with APIs, databases and cloud platforms.
• Practical experience with RAG, LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, tool/function calling and agentic systems.
• Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, testing and CI/CD.
• Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment with a strong bias towards shipping.
