Senior Backend Engineer (Kotlin / Java) | Remote |

You will:

• Build and maintain backend services behind a high-traffic mobile application, covering chat communication, memory capabilities and user personalization

• Work on AI-powered assistants that support the purchasing journey and the pre-purchase experience

• Develop new product features and extend existing functionality to cover additional business use cases

• Improve and harden existing components, with a focus on scalability, reliability and performance

• Take end-to-end ownership of your services: development, maintenance, monitoring and operational excellence

• Take part in architectural and technical decisions, as part of a small team (about 6 engineers) with a product-oriented, high-ownership culture

• Use AI tools in your daily engineering work and help evolve AI-driven user experiences

You bring:

• Strong backend engineering experience in the JVM ecosystem (Kotlin or Java) and a track record of building production-grade systems

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and strong architectural thinking

• Practical experience using AI in software development or building AI-enabled features (please make it visible on your CV)

• Curiosity about emerging AI technologies and willingness to experiment with them

• Experience in fast-paced product environments and comfort taking ownership of services end to end

• Strong English communication skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with high-scale distributed systems

• Observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)

• Kotlin (Java developers who are open to learning Kotlin are welcome)
