Senior Backend Software Engineer

Design reliable backend systems at IBM Software using cloud platforms, distributed systems, and modern deployment practices. Work in an Agile environment with collaborative teams.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build, test, deploy, and operate production backend services. You will translate stakeholder needs into scalable solutions while improving performance, resilience, and operational practices. The work spans event-driven architectures, data pipelines, observability, and continuous delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver backend services ready for production integration
• Build and operate scalable, reliable production systems
• Contribute to distributed systems and large-scale data pipelines
• Improve continuous integration, deployment, and quality controls
• Diagnose customer issues and implement production code fixes

Requirements:

• Backend production experience with scaling and operations
• Proficiency in Java, Go, C/C++, or Python
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design
• Experience with public cloud, containers, and orchestration
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent practical experience
