Position
Magna Legal Services is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to help advance and evolve analytics capabilities across the organization. This role will partner closely with stakeholders across business functions and service lines to understand operational and strategic needs, translate those needs into scalable data solutions, and deliver reporting and insights that support informed decision-making.
The Senior Analyst will own the development and ongoing improvement of dashboards and reporting in Sigma while also helping establish reporting standards, improve data quality, and strengthen the underlying analytics infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines strong technical and analytical skills with business acumen and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with Snowflake is strongly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders across business functions and service lines to understand objectives, identify reporting and analytics needs, translate requirements into effective data solutions, and help turn insights into action.
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports in Sigma, delivering clear and actionable insights to leaders and teams across the organization.
- Use SQL to query, transform, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources, including Snowflake.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, performance drivers, opportunities, and potential areas of concern.
- Establish and promote best practices for reporting, data governance, metric definitions, documentation, and data integrity.
- Improve and scale BI assets and reporting processes across the organization through simplification, standardization, and automation.
- Partner with data and technology teams on data modeling, warehouse development, and improvements to the Snowflake environment.
- Evaluate analytics tools, processes, and capabilities and recommend improvements that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the BI function.
Desired Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency with SQL, including experience querying and analyzing large datasets.
- Experience developing sophisticated dashboards and reporting solutions using Sigma or a comparable modern BI platform.
- Experience working with cloud data warehouses; Snowflake strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business questions into meaningful analysis and actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and data findings to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, manage competing priorities, and independently drive analytics initiatives from concept through delivery.
- Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, data governance, and visualization best practices is preferred.
- Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership.
