Description

About

Swan is the leading European fintech specialized in embedded banking. A laureate of the French government’s selective year list of tech champions, “French Tech Next 120,” we are quickly expanding across Europe.

Over 100 European companies have already seamlessly integrated banking services such as accounts, cards, and payments into their products through our Banking-as-a-Service platform. This approach, known as “embedded finance”, empowers businesses to elevate their offerings and create new revenue streams — often times tripling their revenue!

Our founders’ vision from the beginning was Simplicity: that anyone with a fintech idea at 2 am can visit our website, start building, and buy themselves a coffee with a self-issued card the very next day. That vision has taken us far.

Following a 38M€ Series B round last September, we have been doubling our headcount and already have over 230 Swanees across offices in Paris, Bordeaux, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Milan! If you’re excited about joining a European fintech adventure, Swan is the way!

Job description

Swan is looking for a Data Analyst to join our Data team, led by Romain, our VP Data. The team has 9 people across data engineering, analytics engineering and data analysis.

This is a hybrid role. Half of it is being a business partner: you'll work hand in hand with your stakeholders, help them ask the right questions, and turn data into recommendations that shape their decisions.

The other half is making data work better at Swan. As our team has grown, so has the variety in how we build dashboards, define KPIs and document our work. You'll lead the effort to harmonize these practices and bring the team along with you. You'll also run initiatives that help the rest of Swan get more value from data, such as Metabase training and data onboarding for new Swanees.

Think of it as RevOps for data: you'll shape not only what we deliver, but how we work.

✨ Your mission

Your mission has two sides:

Data analysis:

  • Business partner & project lead: Work hand in hand with your stakeholders to understand their priorities and help them frame the right questions. Lead data projects end to end, from scoping to delivery, and turn analyses into recommendations that shape their decisions.

  • Owner of your domain's data logic: Make sure the data in your scope reflects how the business really works. Define and maintain KPIs, investigate edge cases, write clear specifications for the modeling logic, and safeguard data quality. When needed, you'll build the dbt models yourself.

  • Data product manager for your dashboards: Build and maintain the Metabase dashboards and EXCO reports for your domain. Treat them as products: understand how they're used, keep them reliable and relevant, and retire what's no longer needed.

Data Enablement & Operations:

  • Turn ideas into delivered projects: Take improvement ideas from across the team, including leadership's, and turn them into structured projects with a clear scope, plan and owners. Then carry them through to the end, long after the kick-off energy has faded.

  • Harmonize how the data team works: Lead internal initiatives that make the team more efficient and consistent, such as a shared dashboard lifecycle, a common process for defining and validating KPIs, the data catalog and its upkeep, and clear documentation of our practices.

  • Drive adoption and lead change within the team: Consult analysts before designing new standards, build buy-in by involving them early and starting with quick wins, and support the team through the change until the new ways of working become the norm.

  • Drive AI adoption within the team: Identify where AI can make analysts more effective, from writing SQL to documenting dashboards and answering recurring requests. Test new tools and practices, and help the team adopt the ones that deliver real value.

  • Help the rest of Swan get value from data: Run internal projects for stakeholders, such as Metabase training and a data onboarding program for new Swanees, so that teams become more autonomous and confident with data.

Preferred experience

✨ You’re a great match if:

  • You have 6+ years of experience in data analytics and have worked closely with business stakeholders, ideally non-technical ones.

  • You're fluent in SQL and at ease with a BI tool such as Metabase.

  • You've led the adoption of new standards or processes across a team, convincing peers without having authority over them, and can show what changed as a result.

  • You're pragmatic about process: you know how to keep standards lightweight and focused on what really solves the problem.

  • You have grit and follow-through: you're the person who turns ideas into reality, keeps momentum when things get slow or messy, and doesn't let a project quietly die.

  • You enjoy sharing knowledge: training, documentation, onboarding or helping others become autonomous with data.

  • You handle sensitive or confidential data with care and discretion.

  • You're excited by a hybrid role, half business partner, half making the team and the company work better with data.

  • You share our values: team spirit, transparency, ownership, and the humility to keep learning.

✨ Even better if:

  • You have experience with dbt or building data marts.

  • You've worked on data catalogs, KPI governance or dashboard lifecycle initiatives.

It’s okay if you don’t tick all the boxes — don’t let imposter syndrome prevent you from applying! 🙌
