Job Description

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll blend your expertise in software engineering to architect and refine cutting-edge automation solutions. From developing control algorithms to selecting the right components and ensuring seamless system integration and testing, your work will directly influence the performance, reliability, and evolution of our robotic platforms.

You’ll be responsible for embedded software and firmware functionality across a diverse portfolio of commissioning systems, work with multiple teams from different disciplines, and spearhead innovation in control system design. Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll have the opportunity to prototype new ideas, explore emerging technologies, and drive continuous improvement in both process and product.

The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be part of an open and collaborative environment bringing new and innovative products to market. Performs flexible and responsive firmware design duties using applicable tools to support and enhance our Product line. Essential Functions

  • Working within a cross-functional team from concept to production release of next generation products.
  • Apply theoretical and hands-on electrical support to identify problems and accomplish tasks.
  • Drive firmware development for performance, safety, scalability, modularity, robustness, and tight integration with the hardware.
  • Hands-on hardware bringing up, device system debugging and code optimization.
  • Implement continuous improvements and best practices within the team, and larger organization.
  • Drive firmware/hardware co-design for optimized solutions and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in the robotics and automation field, or the equivalent combination of graduate-level education required.

Skills/Attributes

  • Highly motivated, proactive and positive while solving very challenging problems.
  • Have strong sense of ownership and accountability for overall team success.
  • Experience developing in C and C++ in a real-time embedded environment.
  • RTOS experience, such as FreeRTOS, etc.
  • Strong knowledge in hardware software interface, digital and analog circuits.
  • Experience in bussystems, such as CANopen, Ethernet, Ethercat.
  • Experience with analog and digital sensors.
  • Experience with device drivers, bootloader, secure boot, device communication on embedded systems.
  • Experience in test driven development, using unit testing, software in the loop, and hardware in the loop methodologies, a validation mindset is desired.
  • Familiar with the Development IDEs such as IAR, Eclipse, and/or Visual Studio.
  • Familiar with ECAD tools (Altium Designer preferred).
  • Familiar with version control systems such as SVN/GIT as well as GitHub.
  • Have prior experience with Linux systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in an international development environment.

Salary Range Information

€58,500.00 - €89,250.00 EUR Annual
